Sambalpur: A person was killed while more than 15 others sustained critical injuries in a road mishap near Khinda chowk under Thelkoloi police limits in Sambalpur district in the wee hours of Friday.
The identity of the deceased is yet to be identified.
According to reports, the incident occured while a passenger bus was en route to Sambalpur from Jharsuguda when a speeding truck hit the passenger bus from the rear. Subsequently, one dead on the spot while several others sustained grievous injuries.
On getting information, police reached the spot and rescued all the passengers. The injured have been admitted to Jharsuguda Hospital.
Meanwhile, police have initiated a probe into the matter.
