Banki: One person was killed and another sustained serious injuries as the car in which they were travelling crashed into a roadside tree in Cuttack district this morning.
The road mishap occurred near Rana Sankhapur area under Banki block, when the car’s occupants were returning home after attending a wedding party. The car driver lost control of the wheels and rammed the vehicle into the tree at high speed. As a result, one person died on the spot and another was critically injured.
The injured person was rushed to the nearby hospital. As his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. However, the driver fled from the spot after the incident.
