Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik today announced the formation of 22 new Notified Area Councils in 13 districts of the state and the upgrading of Bhanjanagar NAC of Ganjam to a municipality.
According to the announcement, Manamunda, Old Cuttack and Baunsuni in Boudh district, Loisingha and Sindhekela in Bolangir, Sohela in Bargarh, Baliapal and Khaira in Balasore, Dhamra in Bhadrak, Rasol in Dhenkanal, Kujang in Jagatsinghpur, Narla, Madanpur Rampur In Kalahandi, Bolagad in Khurda, Sarankul in Nayagarh, Sakhigopal and Kakatpur in Puri, Rengali and Bamanda in Sambalpur, Subalaya, Ulunda and Rampur, and in Subarnapur districts are accredited to be new NACs.
During the visit of 5T chairman Karthik Pandian to various districts, keeping in view the suggestions of the public and the need for development, the Chief Minister has taken this decision.
It is worth noting that in view of public demands, increasing population, development and economic growth, the Chief Minister has decided to form these newly Notified Area Councils. The chief minister expressed hope that the newly formed councils will work in the overall development of the region. Last month, the Chief Minister announced the formation of 35 new NACs and 5 new municipalities.
