Damanjodi: A youth who was missing for the last three days was found dead inside a minivan abandoned near Kali temple at Mathalput Tota under the Damanjodi police station limits in Koraput district.
According to sources, the deceased identified as Anil Pathak (32), was missing for the last three days. On Tuesday night, after noticing the foul smell emanating from the abandoned minivan, police sealed the crime scene and this morning seized the body from the vehicle.
On the orders of Damanjodi police station IIC Gaurahari Sahu, SI Deepak Kumar Panda and ASI Animesh Chandra Mali along with a police team reached the spot and started an investigation
Reportedly, the police have sent the dead body to Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital in Koraput for post-mortem.
While the actual cause behind the youth’s death is yet to be ascertained, a case of unnatural death has been registered by the police and the investigation is continuing, sources in the police informed.
