Bhubaneswar: Two construction workers died and another was seriously injured after a huge binding iron rod fell on them at NALCO’s Damanjodi plant construction site in Koraput district on Tuesday.
According to sources, one contractual worker died on the spot while another succumbed to injuries while being rushed to Nalco Hospital at Damanjodi. The critically injured worker is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Sources said, the workers were engaged in the binding of iron-rod when the iron rods caved in trapping three workers underneath.
On intimation, Damanjodi Police and CISF police officials reached the mishap spot and started an investigation into the accident.
