Kalimela: A migrant labourer, who was returning to Odisha from Hyderabad along with his brother, died due to suspected cardiac arrest inside a private bus on Monday. The incident took place at Motu border in Malkangiri district.
The deceased, identified as Sudhir Ranjan Bishwal, was returning along with his brother Dhiranjan Biswal of Kumbhi village under Soro block in Balasore district.
According to reports, the duo had signed a four-month work contract at a private coal mine in Hyderabad and at Singaram coal mine. However, after the lockdown, the two were returning to Odisha on a private bus from Hyderabad. However, Sudhir Ranjan died suddenly inside the bus after experiencing severe chest pain at the border area.
Reportedly, the health department is investigating whether deceased Sudhir Ranjan was suffering from Coronavirus infection.
As the dead body was inside Andhra Pradesh, a team of Malkangiri police crossed Sile river and brought the body into the Malkangiri border. According to the Covid protocols, the body was cremated on the banks of the river.
Malkangiri SP Rishikesh Khilar, DSP Anshuman Dwivedi, Motu Police Officer Sushant Kumar Sahu, Motu Tehsildar Shashank Kumar Mishra, Motu Hospital Dr Sarath Kumar Behera, were present during the cremation.
