Kalimela: A four-month-old baby girl died and her parents were critically injured after the mud wall of their house collapsed in Metaguda village under Materu Panchayat of Malkangari District.
According to information, Aita Madkami, his wife and 4-month-old daughter were sleeping in their house when the wall of the house collapsed and fell on the three of them early this morning due to rain.
Hearing their screams, fellow villagers rushed to the house and pulled out the trio from the debris.
According to the villagers, the couple was immediately taken to Padia Community Health Center. But, their infant baby girl was found dead on the spot.
On hearing the news, BDO Ramakrishna Nayak reached the spot and took stock of the situation. He assured that the family will get government assistance and ordered the local PEO to immediately arrange for the family’s stay and check the necessary documents to provide pucca housing.
