Man kills elder brother with bow and arrow over family feud in Jajpur

Kaliapani: A drunken man allegedly killed his elder brother with a bow and arrow over a family dispute at Deogaon’s Ashokjhar village within Kaliapani police station in Jajpur district on Saturday.

According to sources, Dulabha Padhan of Ashojhar village located in the foothills of Nagada killed his elder brother Gulu Padhan (35) with a bow and arrow.

On Saturday morning, both of them got into a fight over some family issues. Due to the intervention of the neighbours, both of them went out of the house. However, both arrived at their house at around 11 am in a drunken state and continued their quarrel.

In a fit of rage, Dulabha bought a bow and arrow from inside his house and shot at Gulu, who was sitting on the verandah of his house.

The arrow pierced through Gulu’s chest killing him on the spot. In the meanwhile, accused Dulabha fled the scene.

On intimation, Kaliapani police reached the spot and seized the body and sent Danagaji Hospital for post-mortem.

No formal complaint was registered about the incident till the last report came in.
