Malkangiri: Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday carried out simultaneous raids on properties associated with Chief Agriculture Officer of Malkangiri district on charges of acquisition and possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The accused officer has been identified as M Anand Rao.
According to reports, searches are carried out at 6 places including Malkangiri, Nabarangpur and Visakhapatnam.
The raids were being conducted on the strength of a search warrant issued by the Court of Special Judge, said reports.
As the raids are still underway, the exact disproportionate assets unearthed is yet to be ascertained.
