Rayagada: A lady home guard sustained injuries after being stabbed with a knife by a traffic violator at Chandili in Rayagada district on Monday evening.
The victim has been identified as Rina Bidika.
As per available reports, the incident occurred while Rina was on traffic duty when a youth violated the traffic rule and hit a bus with his motorcycle.
Following this, the home guard seized the motorcycle and detained it at Chandili Police Station and instructed the youth to recover his motorcycle from the police station.
However, the youth started an argument with Rina before leaving the spot, but later, returned in the evening and stabbed Rina six times.
A fellow home guard rushed her to the district headquarters hospital. From there she was shifted to MKCG Medical College & Hospital in Berhampur.
