Erbil: At least 14 people were killed and 18 others sustained injuries after a massive fire broke out at a university dormitory near Iraq’s northern city of Erbil on Friday.
As per sources, the fire first broke out on the third and fourth floors, which were inhabited by university students and teachers, and then spread to the entire five-storey building.
On receiving information, the fire brigades rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire. The injured have been admitted to the hospital. After the fire mishap, a thorough investigation has been initiated to ascertain the root causes of the devastating blaze.
