New Delhi: The Delhi Police Central District busted a IPL fake tickets racket on Wedneday. Five people, who have been charged with printing fake tickets for the matches of the cash-rich league, have been held. Three of them are said to be minors.

Notably, the sixteenth edition of the T20 tournament is currently underway. Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, home to the Delhi Capitals franchise, is set to host a total of 7 matches in the league stage of the competition this year.

Further update is awaited regarding this development.

Overall, a total of 70 league matches are to be held in the competition this year. The tournament has returned to its traditional home and away format this year across 12 venues. Other than the actual homes of each of the ten franchises, the other two venues are Guwahati and Dharamsala.

The two matches schedueled in Guwahati have been played. It was the adopted venue for Rajasthan this year. On the other hand, two home matches of the Punjab Kings are set to happen in Dharamsala which are scheduled on May 17 against the Delhi Capitals and May 19 against the Rajasthan Royals respectively.

As things stand, the Lucknow Super Giants are the top of the points table with 3 wins from 4 matches. Five teams- Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings have 2 wins from 3 matches with only the net run rate being the differentiator among them for positions in the points tally. Three teams- Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad have a win against their name from 3 matches and once again it is the net run rate which has separated these sides.
