Keonjhar: The body of a girl was found hanging from a tree in Patana locality of Keonjhar district on Saturday.
The matter came to light when some locals spotted the body of the girl hanging from a tree on Saturday morning and informed the police.
According to reports, the deceased, identified as Priyanka Priyadarshini Munda, who was a Paramedical student in Bhubaneswar, had come to her native place in Kucheibeda village in Patana a few days back.
Meanwhile, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem to a nearby hospital. Police have also recovered a diary from the spot.
Further investigation in this regard is underway to ascertain the exact reason behind the death of the victim. However, it is suspected that the girl might have committed suicide over mental stress.
