Bhubaneswar: A minor fire broke out at the Sanskrit Department of Utkal University on Tuesday afternoon.
According to reports, some employees of the varsity spotted smoke coming out of the department in the afternoon and informed the fire personnel subsequently.
Several important documents were feared to have brunt due to the mishap. While the exact reason behind the mishap is yet to be ascertained, it is believed that the fire broke out due to an electrical short-circuit, reports said.
Meanwhile, a team of firefighters has reached the spot to douse the fire. More details awaited.
