Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s all Catering Services, Tent House & Flower Associations have staged a demonstration in front of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) a day after BMC imposed a cap on the number of attendees in social functions.
Reportedly, the agitators gheraoed the BMC headquarters office demanding to revise the guidelines which restrict the number of attendees in weddings, thread ceremonies, and funerals to 50. They also blocked the main road demanding immediate action.
It is pertinent to mention that BMC has issued fresh guidelines to restrict the number of attendees in weddings, funerals, and thread ceremony functions in the city. The presence of a maximum of 50 persons will be allowed in functions related to marriage, death rituals, and thread ceremonies in Bhubaneswar.
