Baripada: An elderly man was trampled to death by a wild elephant in Kalianal village under Muruda block in Mayurbhanj district on Friday.
The elephant attacked the man while he was sleeping inside his house. As a result, he lost his life. A pall of gloom descended on the village after the man’s death.
It is worth mentioning that often elephants enter villages situated near the forests causing harm to people and destroying crops, valuables and accessories.
