Nuapada: A couple was killed when their bike was hit by a truck on the National Highway no. 353 near Maniguda in Nuapada district.
The deceased have been identified as Jayaram Majhi (56) and his wife Ghunamati Majhi of Ainlajuba village under Khariar Road block.
As per sources, the couple was going to Komna on Sunday due to some work. A truck coming from the opposite direction collided with their bike at Maniguda village. While Jayaram died on the spot, Ghunamati sustained critical injuries. She was immediately admitted to the hospital by the locals. But she also died in the hospital.
The police reached there and seized the dead body for post-mortem. The truck and the bike have also been seized. Further investigation is underway.
