Dhenkanal: A Special Vigilance Court sentenced a junior clerk to two years in jail in a bribery case

Dhenkanal Special Vigilance Court sentenced the Dhenkanal school CI and former junior grocer to two years in jail in the case of bribery. Gagan Sahoo was caught taking bribe to regularize the pension of a retired employee in 2017. He was arrested by vigilance and a case was registered against him.

Sahoo, Ex- Jr Clerk, C.I of Schools, Dhenkanal who was arrested for accepting bribe from a retired government employee for regularisation of his provisional pension, vigilance said.

He was convicted by Special Judge, Vigilance, Dhenkanal and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of two years. The court also directed to pay fine of Rs 20,000. In default of payment of fine, he would undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of six months, a vigilance release stated.
