Claude AI, one of the leading artificial intelligence platforms developed by Anthropic, experienced a significant service disruption on Thursday, leaving thousands of users unable to access its chatbot, mobile application, and website.
The outage triggered widespread reports from users across multiple regions, with many encountering connection errors and service interruptions while attempting to use Claude AI. The issue quickly gained attention online as users turned to social media and outage-tracking platforms to report problems.
In response to the disruption, Anthropic confirmed that it had identified the root cause of the incident and was actively working on a solution.
“We have identified the cause of the issue affecting Claude.ai and are working on a fix. We will provide an update as soon as possible,” the company said in an official statement.
According to outage monitoring data, the majority of complaints were related to Claude Chat services, accounting for approximately 63 percent of reported issues. Around 24 percent of users reported problems with the mobile application, while 10 percent experienced difficulties accessing the website.
Anthropic’s status page showed that the company began investigating the issue at 6:04 UTC. By 6:39 UTC, the company announced that the problem had been identified and that a fix was being implemented.
The latest outage follows another service disruption reported earlier this month, when users experienced elevated error rates while accessing Claude’s advanced AI models. At that time, Anthropic’s status page indicated that engineers were investigating performance issues before eventually restoring normal functionality.
Users affected by the current outage are advised to try basic troubleshooting measures such as refreshing their browser, restarting the application, or checking their internet connection. However, if the disruption is linked to the broader platform outage, normal service will only resume once Anthropic completes the restoration process.
As artificial intelligence platforms become increasingly integrated into daily workflows, outages of major services such as Claude AI highlight the growing importance of infrastructure reliability and rapid incident response.
