Emphasizing that civic development must move beyond mere paperwork and official announcements, Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Santrupt Misra convened a high-level review meeting to accelerate infrastructure works across the Choudwar-Kataka Assembly Constituency.
Held at the Kataka District Collector’s Office, the session focused on eliminating administrative bottlenecks and ensuring the swift delivery of public amenities.
The meeting brought together key public representatives, Kataka Municipal Corporation officials, and local leaders to dissect the progress of several high-priority initiatives. Prominent projects on the agenda included the Taldanda Canal Beautification Project, the Mega Water Supply Project servicing 23 Gram Panchayats in Tangi Block, and the modernization of local recreational spaces like Magura Park and the Biju Patnaik Boating Club.
Additionally, the review scrutinized the status of the Chateswar Smart Crematorium, critical drainage overhauls in Ward Nos. 48 and 49 of the Kataka Municipal Corporation, and the Mahanadi–Jobra Bridge Circuit Point Development.
Dr. Misra took a firm stance on accountability, facilitating detailed discussions on existing roadblocks. Officials were tasked with identifying exactly where works were being held up, diagnosing the causes for delay, and mapping out immediate, actionable resolutions.
“Development should not remain confined to announcements or paperwork; its benefits must reach the common people at the earliest,” Dr. Misra stated during the review. He directed the concerned departments to strengthen inter-agency coordination to expedite all pending assignments.
The overarching theme of the meeting was an uncompromising commitment to the residents of Choudwar-Kataka. Stakeholders agreed that the specific needs of every neighborhood and the everyday problems faced by citizens must dictate the pace and priority of urban planning.
The strategic review was attended by prominent local figures, including BJD Kataka District President and Choudwar-Kataka Coordinator Prafulla Kumar Singh, the MP’s Kataka District Representative Gautam Siddiqui, and Choudwar Municipality Chairperson Manasi Swarnaprava Samal.
Kataka District General Secretary Tapas Mohanty, District Youth BJD President Smruti Ranjan Nayak, Kataka Municipal Corporation Vice-President Bibhuti Bhushan Behera, and Dhaneswar Jethi were also present to lend their support.
Reaffirming his ongoing commitment to the region, Dr. Misra assured the public that his efforts to secure the rights and development of Choudwar-Kataka will continue unabated, with zero tolerance for unnecessary delays.
