Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi ordered a probe into widespread printing errors found in school textbooks from Class I to VIII and directed immediate corrective action.
Acting on his instructions, the government formed a three-member high-level committee to investigate the issue.
Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Deo Ranjan Kumar Singh will head the committee. Culture Department Secretary Bijay Ketan Upadhyay and General Administration Department Deputy Secretary Smita Pani will serve as members.
The committee will examine how the printing errors occurred, identify the responsible officials or agencies, and submit its report within seven days. Officials said the inquiry will determine accountability and recommend measures to prevent such lapses in future publications.
The Chief Minister expressed strong displeasure over the mistakes, which have affected students’ learning across the state. He reviewed the matter at Lok Seva Bhawan and instructed officials to correct the errors immediately and take strict action against those involved.
