Balasore: A tanker carrying hydrochloric acid overturned in Bhagatpur village under Khantapada panchayat in Balasore district on sunday.
The incident caused a toxic leakage of gas. Hydrochloric acid exposure can rapidly lead to swelling and spasm of throat and suffocation.
As per reports, the driver of the tanker lost control over the wheels of the vehicle, and it turned turtle on the road. Then it fell to the field attached to the road. The mishap caused the leakage of chemical gas.
The police and fire service personnel on receiving information, rushed to the spot and launched an operation to control the situation.
