Gajapati: One person was killed after being hit by Block Development Officer’s vehicle at Podoni Chhak here in Gajapati district.
The deceased has been identified as T Prabhakar (50) of Satamail village.
According to reports, Prabhakar was heading towards some work on a motorcycle when he was hit by the SUV in which Mohana BDO Tapaswini Hansdah was travelling.
Hansdah was heading towards the district-level meeting of the BDOs in the vehicle.
Following the incident, Prabhakar died on the spot.
On being informed, Paralakhemundi police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to the District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem.
Meanwhile, Police have detained the driver of the SUV and launched a probe into the incident.
