In a significant political development in Bihar, Anant Kumar Singh, the MLA from Mokama, has been expelled from the Janata Dal (United) for six years over alleged anti-party activities and repeated violations of party discipline. His primary membership of the party has also been terminated with immediate effect.
According to an order issued by Bihar JD(U) state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha, the action was taken after Singh allegedly ignored repeated party directives and acted against the organization’s interests.
The party accused Anant Kumar Singh of openly opposing JD(U)’s official candidate, Neeraj Kumar, during the Bihar Legislative Council elections and extending support to Anuj Singh of Jan Suraaj.
JD(U) also alleged that the Mokama legislator used inappropriate and insulting language against the party’s top leadership, prompting disciplinary action.
In a further escalation, the party has reportedly recommended the disqualification of Anant Kumar Singh from the Bihar Legislative Assembly.
The expulsion marks a major setback for the influential Mokama MLA and signals JD(U)’s determination to enforce party discipline ahead of key political battles in Bihar.
The development is expected to have significant implications for the state’s political landscape in the coming months.
