Uttar Pradesh: At least 18 people were killed and several injured after a speeding truck hit a bus in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki early on Wednesday.
As many as 19 passengers were also left gravely injured in the incident, said UP police officials familiar with the development, adding that the wounded passengers were rushed to the district hospital for emergency medical treatment.
The accident occurred on the Ayodhya-Lucknow highway near Ram Sanehi Police Station in Barabanki. According to the police, there were 140 people on the bus. All of them were labourers who were travelling from Palwal in Haryana to Bihar.
The police team reached the spot and rescued people stuck under the bus.
