Rourkela: A woman was critically injured after being attacked by a wild elephant at Potaba village under Nuagaon block in Sundergarh district on Wednesday.
The injured has been identified as Susananda Onaha of Pahadadoli village.
As per reports, the incident occurred while Susananda had gone to a field near the village to attend nature’s call when she was attacked by a wild elephant.
She was immediately rushed to Hatibari PHC in critical condition. Later, she was shifted to Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH) as her condition deteriorated.
On being informed, the forest department reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter.
