Two Terrorists Neutralised In J&K’s Baramulla Encounter, Ops In Shopian Underway

Two terrorists have been neutralised by security forces in the ongoing encounter at Yedipora in Pattan area of Baramulla in Jammu & Kashmir, the police said on Friday.

“Both the local terrorists were linked with proscribed terror outfit JeM. Search operation in progress,” ADGP Kashmir zone Vijay Kumar was quoted by ANI on its official Twitter handle.

“An encounter underway between terrorist(s) & security forces at the Chitragam area of Shopian,” Police said.

Earlier today, two encounters broke out between militants and security forces began in in the Chitragam region of South Kashmir’s Shopian district and Pattan in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district

The exchange of bullets between the security forces and terrorists began when a joint police and security team received information about the presence of terrorists in certain regions and cordoned the locations. Following this, militants hiding there began fire prompting security forces to retaliate.
