A disturbing incident has been reported from Biramitrapur in Odisha’s Sundaragada district, where two minor girls were allegedly gang-raped while returning home after attending Karma Puja celebrations in Kuarmunda.
According to reports, a group of youths intercepted the girls near a forested stretch and forcibly took them inside. The accused allegedly assaulted the victims, threatened them with dire consequences if they revealed the incident, and even handed them Rs 7,000 before fleeing the spot.
The girls later informed their families, who lodged a complaint at Biramitrapur police station. Acting swiftly, police launched raids across multiple locations and detained five suspects in connection with the case. The incident has sparked outrage in the locality, with residents demanding strict action against the perpetrators.
Police have yet to release official details, but investigations are underway to establish the full circumstances of the crime.
