Angul: A joint team of STF and district police arrested three persons for keeping and trading narcotic drugs including Ganja at Chandrapur under Athamalik police station in the district today.
On the basis of intelligence input, a team of STF with the help of police conducted raid at the village and arrested Sarmit Urma, Rohit Behera, Sunil Deep.
Sarmit and Rohit belong to Athamalik area while Sunil is a resident of Boudh.
During search, Ganja more than 161 kg and other incriminating materials were seized from their possession. A case has been registered on the report of STF at Athamalik Police Station, officials said.
Further investigation is on, they added.
Since 2020, STF has seized more than 69 Kg of Brown Sugar/Heroin, 202 Gram Cocaine and more than 115 quintals of Ganja/Marijuna, Opium 750 gram. The task force also arrested more than 172 drug peddlers, officials informed.
