Bhubaneswar: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) on Wednesday informed that all COVID-19 vaccination of servitors above 18 years at Puri Srimandir will start from May 1.
SJTA Chief administrator Krishan Kumar said that the massive inoculation drive is being undertaken keeping in mind the commencement of the work for the construction of chariots for the Rath Yatra from next month. He said the servitors to be engaged in the chariot construction work will be vaccinated on a priority basis.
Kumar said 32 servitors of the temple have returned from the Kumbh Mela and added that one servitor has tested positive for the deadly coronavirus. His treatment is being carried out as per the protocol, Kumar added.
The SJTA Chief Administrator said each servitor’s family will be traced to ensure that all of them are vaccinated. He said Homeopathy and Ayurvedic camps will be set up in the coming days as well.
Kumar said RT-PCR negative report has been made mandatory for the devotees coming to Puri Srimandir for darshan from outside.
