Cuttack: At a high-level meeting here on Thursday, Odisha DGP Abhay said that the State Police department has decided to launch a special drive to trace missing children of the state.
This will start between January 18 to January 25. DGP Abhay took the decision to the effect during a video conference of with district chiefs on Thursday.
It may be noted that the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) has placed the state at the bottom relating to the recovery percentage of the missing children in the country.
Reports said the recovery rate of the missing children in Odisha was 27.1% in 2019, the lowest in the country. The NCRB data has also said that as many as 5,503 children remained untraced in the state till 2019.
The high-level meeting also took the decision to for introduction health checkup of police personnel above 40 years of age. The meeting also decided that the police personnel will get a uniform allowance instead of uniform from now onwards.
