Mission Shakti Self Help Groups (SHGs) across Odisha have successfully prepared 60 lakh National Flags under the Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 campaign, achieving the entire target by due date.

The initiative saw the active participation of 1,235 SHGs, 201 Producer Groups and 138 Federations. This involved a total of 16,162 SHG members across all 30 districts of the State.

The large-scale flag-making initiative has provided Mission Shakti women with an opportunity to contribute to the national campaign. Additionally, it has strengthened their collective enterprise, production capabilities and livelihood opportunities.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida said, “The preparation of 60 lakh National Flags by our Mission Shakti women is a matter of immense pride for Odisha. It reflects their deep sense of patriotism, dedication and entrepreneurial spirit. Moreover, our women have once again demonstrated that when empowered through collective platforms, they can successfully undertake activities of significant scale.”

She added, “Har Ghar Tiranga is not merely a celebration of our National Flag; it is also an expression of people’s participation in nation-building. Through Mission Shakti, our women are becoming active contributors to Odisha’s development. Furthermore, they are creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for themselves and their communities.”

The successful completion of the 60 lakh National Flag target with 100 per cent achievement underscores the commitment of Odisha’s Mission Shakti women towards both nation-building and women-led development, as the State prepares to celebrate Har Ghar Tiranga 2026.
