Melbourne: The mixed-doubles pair of Sania Mirza and Rajeev Ram bowed out of the ongoing Australian Open on Tuesday after they lost the quarterfinal clash against Jason Kubler and Jamiee Fourlis here at the Margaret Court Arena.
Kubler and Fourlis defeated Mirza and Ram 6-4, 7-6 in the quarterfinal clash.
Earlier, the Sania Mirza and Rajeev Ram had outclassed Ellen Perez and Matwe Middelkoop in the second round of the mixed doubles event and advanced into quarterfinal.
With Mirza’s defeat, the Indian challenge also came to an end in the first Slam of the year.
