Revenue Inspector Caught Taking Rs 6K Bribe In Jagatsinghpur

Simultaneous searches underway by Vigilance at two locations of RI Rout from DA angle.

Bhubaneswar: The Vigilance sleuths today apprehended the Revenue Inspector (RI) of Goda under Erasama tehsil in Jagatsinghpur district while taking a bribe of Rs 6,000 from a person to submit enquiry reports in his favour in a mutation case.

According to Odisha Vigilance, Nrusingha Charan Rout,  RI of Goda & I/c RI of Padmapur under Ersama Tahasil in Jagatsinghpur has been apprehended while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 6,000 from a Complainant in order to submit enquiry report in his favour in a Mutation Case.

The entire bribe money has been recovered from the exclusive possession of accused RI Rout and seized. Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of RI Rout from the D.A angle, the Vigilance said.

In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance PS case no. 26/2023 U/s-7PC Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered. An investigation is in progress against accused RI Rout, the Vigilance added.
