Bhubaneswar: President of India Droupadi Murmu arrived here on Thursday for a two-day trip to Odisha. This is the first visit of Murmu to the state after becoming the President on July 25.
Murmu arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here on a special flight where she was given a Guard of Honour.
She was welcomed by the Governor of Odisha Prof Ganeshi Lal and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
The President is now scheduled to visit Puri to offer prayers at the Lord Jagannath Temple.
She is scheduled to spend about one hour inside the 12th-century Shree Jagannath Temple in the pilgrim town. She will also visit the Raj Bhavan there.
