Pramod Bhagat, Sukant Kadam Secure Bronze in Men’s Doubles Badminton at Para Asian Games

Ace shuttlers Pramod Bhagat and Sukant Kadam secured bronze in the men’s doubles SL3-SL4 category at the ongoing Para Asian Games in China.

The day kicked off with Pramod Bhagat defeating Thailand’s Bunsun Mongkhon in the semifinals to secure a place in the finals.

The ace shuttler looked in top form as he defeated his counterpart in straight sets. The finals core read 21-13 and 21-12 and will not face India’s Nitesh Kumar in the finals of the SL3 singles category.

In the men’s doubles SL3-SL4 category, World No. 1 Pramod Bhagat and Sukant Kadam went down fighting to the Indonesian pair of Setiawan Fredy and Dwiyoko in a tight 3-set encounter.

The world No. 1 took the first set 22-20 and both the teams were not giving an inch and fighting tooth and nail for each and every point, the second set was also close with the Indonesian pair claiming the second set with a score of 21-23.

In the third and final set, Pramod and Sukant couldn’t make a comeback and lost with a score of 12-21. The final score read 22-20, 21-23 and 12-21.
