One More Held In Pahala Loot Case, Cash Recovered

Bhubaneswar: Police nabbed one more member of the gang allegedly involved in the robbery at Jagannathpur of Pahala in the outskirts of the Bhubaneswar on May 18.

The arrestee has been identified as Santosh Behera (30).

Reportedly, two other members of the gang were earlier arrested by police.

It may be recalled that the looters entered the house of one Ranjit Patra and looted cash and valuables over lakhs of rupees while Ranjit was undergoing treatment at Bhubaneswar based hospital due to covid infection. Following this, he lodged a complaint at the Pahala outpost and later informed Balianta police station.

Acting on the complaint, police registered a case and arrested the accused persons in his regard. The cops also recovered Rs 30,000 and a gold necklace from their possession.

During interrogation, the accused persons confessed to their crime. A case has been registered about the same and they were forwarded to court, police said.
