Cuttack: Ollywood director Sudhakar Basant sustained critical injuries as a car in which he was travelling hit a truck from the rear near Manguli Square in Choudwar area in Cuttack district, late on Saturday night.
As per reports, the mishap occurred while Sudhakar was returning to Cuttack after finishing shooting from Baripada. The car crashed into a cement-laden truck parked along the road, owing to the possible dense fog and low visibility conditions.
Basant, trapped in the vehicle severely mangled under the impact of the collision, was rescued by Fire Services personnel and rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for treatment. His condition is stated to be critical. His driver also sustained injuries in the accident.
A total of three persons were travelling in that car. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained.
