Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Railways, and Information & Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw, has lauded Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi for the state’s pioneering AI initiatives, highlighting their potential to revolutionise transparent and efficient public service delivery.

Speaking at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from February 16-20, Vaishnaw commended Odisha’s dedicated AI pavilion, which showcased innovative applications in IT and electronics aimed at enhancing governance. He described the state’s rapid adoption of artificial intelligence as a model for others, aligning with Odisha’s vision of a “Developed Odisha” through technology-driven transformation.

In response, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed gratitude to the Union Minister, posting on X (formerly Twitter): “Thank you Hon’ble Union Minister Shri @AshwiniVaishnaw ji for your kind words and appreciation of Odisha’s AI pavilion at the India AI Impact Summit 2026. Our innovative applications in IT & electronics will further strengthen transparent government services.”

The Odisha pavilion demonstrated practical AI solutions designed to streamline public services, improve accessibility, and promote transparency across various government departments. These initiatives reflect the state’s commitment to leveraging emerging technologies for citizen-centric governance.

The India AI Impact Summit 2026, featuring over 300 exhibitors from more than 30 countries and 10 thematic pavilions, has brought together global leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to explore AI’s role in inclusive growth, sustainability, and addressing global challenges. Prominent speakers include OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Google CEO Sundar Pichai.

Vaishnaw’s praise underscores the growing synergy between the Centre and states in advancing India’s digital ecosystem, with Odisha emerging as a key player in the nation’s AI ambitions.
