The Higher Education Department released the first selection merit list for UG (Degree +3) admissions for the 2026-27 academic session on Monday.
A total of 1,78,782 students secured seats out of 2,37,200 applicants across Odisha’s colleges.
Among the selected students, 69,182 are boys, 1,09,591 are girls, and nine are transgender candidates. The Arts stream recorded the highest number of selections with 1,12,822 students, followed by 43,693 in Science, 15,624 in Commerce, 3,371 in Shastri, 3,245 in self-financing courses, and 167 in Law.
Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, registered the highest cut-off marks across multiple streams. Political Science in Arts stood at 94.50 per cent, Physics in Physical Science at 96.50 per cent, Zoology in Biological Science at 94.83 per cent, and Commerce at 89.17 per cent. Brajakishore Sanskrit Degree College, Garhbishnupur, recorded 67.57 per cent in Shastri. BJB Autonomous College, Bhubaneswar, topped self-financing courses with 92 per cent in Computer Science, while Madhusudan Law University, Cuttack, registered 89.40 per cent in Law.
Students opting for the “Freeze” option must report to their allotted institutions between June 23 and June 25 to complete admission formalities. Those choosing “Slide” or “Float” must pay the admission fee and await the second-round merit list. The newly introduced “Alter” option allows students to modify their choices through OTP-based verification.
