Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has announced waiver of entertainment tax on Odia film ‘Delivery Boy’, officials said on Monday. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved a proposal to this effect.
The Odia film ‘Delivery Boy’, directed by Ashwin Tripathy and produced by Jyotiranjan Mohanty.
It is worth noting that the role of Delivery Boys has become indispensable in the daily life of urban areas. Usually coming from poor families, these ‘delivery boys’ have very challenging work and life full of struggles.
The film is based on the stories of such delivery boys. The film, made in Odia language, perfectly depicts how a delivery boy who is a victim of a road accident, fights for justice with the help of his colleagues and wins. Efforts have been made in the film to create awareness about road safety. It is expected to have a positive impact on the audience from all sections of the society.
Buddhaditya Mohanty, Sailendra Samantray, Sushant Dasmahapatra, Priyambada and Surjyamayi have acted in this film.
It is to be noted that recently the state government had also waived entertainment tax on Hindi film ‘Zwigato’ starring Kapil Sharma.
The state government is implementing favourable policies so that more and more commercial films can be shot in Odisha and is also encouraging the film industry in this regard. The Chief Minister expressed hope that this will develop tourism in the state and create employment for talented young people.
