Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has reassured citizens that their safety and security remain the government’s highest priority as heavy rains and rising river levels trigger flood concerns in several districts.
In a message posted on X, the CM said he and his government are keeping a direct watch on the situation every moment, coordinating with the Chief Secretary and Special Relief Commissioner to ensure timely response.

Majhi urged people not to panic, assuring them that the administration is with them at every step. He directed officials to intensify rescue and relief operations, particularly in Baleshwar, Bhadrak, and Jajpur, where three senior IAS officers have been assigned to oversee flood management.
The CM confirmed that the SRC office and state emergency control room will remain open 24×7, while NDRF, ODRAF, Fire Services, and police teams are fully prepared to relocate residents from low‑lying areas.
Relief camps are being stocked with drinking water, cooked food, medicines, and cattle feed, and police have stepped up night patrolling to safeguard evacuated homes. Majhi also directed officials to provide compensation for damaged houses and farmland without delay.
