Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has extended heartfelt thanks to devotees, sevayats, police, and volunteers for ensuring the successful completion of Rath Yatra 2026 in Puri, despite heavy rains and adverse weather conditions.
The CM praised the discipline of lakhs of devotees and the dedication of sevayats who completed all rituals — from Nabajouban Darshan to Niladri Bije — with devotion and faith. He noted that even with delays caused by rain, every ritual was carried out smoothly under Lord Jagannath’s divine grace.
Majhi highlighted the role of the Odisha Police, with more than 13,000 personnel deployed to maintain order and provide security throughout the nine‑day festival. He commended their efforts in ensuring safety and discipline for millions of pilgrims.
The Chief Minister also emphasised the state government’s commitment to promoting Jagannath culture and developing Puri as a world‑class religious tourism hub. Projects such as the Puri airport, Jagannath museum and research centre, marine aquarium, and Shamuka project are underway to enhance the city’s appeal to visitors.
Majhi reiterated that declaring Puri as a municipal corporation will enable better services for residents and tourists alike. He assured that the government will continue to strengthen infrastructure and cultural promotion to make Puri a global spiritual destination.
