From the coffee plantations of Koraput to the global stage of the BRICS India Summit 2026, Odisha’s local produce is getting a wider audience.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday expressed pride over Koraput Coffee being showcased at the two-day BRICS India Summit in New Delhi, saying its presence highlighted Odisha’s rich local produce and untapped potential.
Taking to social media platform X, Majhi said he had been highlighting Odisha’s opportunities, strengths and potential on global platforms over the past few days and inviting the world to discover the state.
“Today, it is especially heartening to see Koraput Coffee telling another side of Odisha’s story at the BRICS India 2026 Summit,” the Chief Minister said.
Koraput Coffee Embodies ‘Vocal for Local’
Majhi said the recognition of Koraput Coffee at the international summit reflected the spirit of ‘Vocal for Local’, the initiative envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to give locally produced goods a wider platform.
He said it was a matter of immense pride to see the hard work of the people of Odisha and the richness of the state’s land receiving recognition beyond the state’s borders.
“This is the Odisha I want the world to know — rooted in its soil, proud of its identity and confident in sharing its story with the world,” Majhi said.
Odisha Produce Gets Global Platform
The Chief Minister said Koraput Coffee’s participation in the international summit highlighted the potential of Odisha’s local products and the growing recognition of the state’s unique strengths on the global stage.
The showcase also comes as Odisha seeks to promote its distinctive agricultural and local products beyond domestic markets.
The BRICS India Summit 2026 is being held in New Delhi on September 12 and 13, bringing together leaders and representatives from the grouping of emerging economies.
