The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has ramped up its inquiry into the alleged fraud in the Odisha Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment examination.

Following the summons, three more candidates reported to the CBI office in Bhubaneswar on Sunday, sources revealed.

To date, summons have been issued to 20 individuals, with 12 already interrogated by Sunday. The remaining candidates will be questioned in phases, according to CBI sources.

On Saturday, seven candidates underwent marathon interrogations lasting six to seven hours at the CBI office. They faced detailed questioning regarding the SI recruitment exam irregularities, but provided no comments upon leaving. CBI officials are now shifting focus from the arrested accused to the candidates, aiming to uncover deeper details of the scam.

The CBI team continues its investigation into the police SI exam malpractice case. The three candidates who appeared on Sunday arrived with their documents and entered the office for questioning. Authorities plan to interrogate all individuals directly or indirectly involved in the case, probing aspects such as how deals were struck and who initiated contact with the candidates. This effort is geared toward gathering evidence to expose the full extent of the fraud.

Notably, on Saturday morning, two candidates were questioned and released. By 3 PM, four more arrived, followed by another candidate later in the day. These individuals had been arrested earlier but were out on bail. With the interrogation of the arrested accused completed, CBI is now grilling the candidates implicated in the allegations, determined to trace the scam back to its roots.
