Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today extended his greetings for Vishwakarma Puja and prayed for creating new possibilities among all.

Taking to Twitter, Patnaik said, “Heartiest greetings on holy Vishwakarma Puja. May the blessings of Lord Vishwakarma create new possibilities among all of us. May every life be enlightened and prosperous.”

Vishwakarma Puja is an important festival in Eastern India and is dedicated to Vishwa Karma, the divine architect of the universe according to Hindu scriptures.

Mythology says that it was Viswakarma who crafted the entire universe, and that is why he is regarded as the supreme worker, the very essence of excellence and quality in craftsmanship.

He revealed the sciences of industry to man and is the patron deity of all those who are engaged in productive enterprises.

The festival is observed in a very grand manner in factories and industrial areas. Not only engineers and architects, but also artisans, craftsmen, mechanics, smiths, welders, industrial workers, factory workers and others pray for a better future, safe working environment and, above all, success in their respective fields.
