Basudevpur: An 84-year-old patient was allegedly administered a ‘wrong injection’ by a health worker at Basudevpur Community Health Centre (CHC) on Thursday.

The patient has been identified as Nagendra Prasad Mohanty.

According to sources, Nagendra’s son Subashish Mohanty had brought him to  Basudevpur  CHC to administer an injection after consulting a doctor. However, a nurse at the CHC administered distilled water to his father instead of the prescribed injection, Subashish alleged.

Following the incident, tension prevailed in the hospital premises with the patient’s kin alleging negligence on the part of the nurse.

However, the accused nurse has denied the allegation by the patient’s family.
