The residents who want to keep pet will have to register first at the BMC office. A team will inspect the house and its environment for pet domestication before giving approval.
The owners will have to submit an undertaking at BMC office mentioning that their pet would not cause harm to anyone, he said.
The new guidelines will be implemented from next week, he informed.
