Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a stop-work notice to Paltronics Allied Industries Private Limited for the illegal construction of an apartment complex in Patia. The land, originally leased for industrial purposes, was being used to build a multi-storied residential apartment without proper authorization.
The BMC’s action follows allegations that Paltronics Allied had illegally changed the land use from industrial to residential. The construction project, which includes a 33-storied structure, a 29-storied structure, and a two-storied clubhouse, was found to be in violation of the lease agreement.
Mayor Sulochana Das emphasized the city’s commitment to enforcing land use regulations and warned against such violations. “We will take strict action against any illegal constructions in Bhubaneswar,” she stated.
The General Administration Department has also directed the Bhubaneswar Tehsildar to correct the land records and address the unauthorized changes. The BMC has made it clear that construction must cease until a final decision is made regarding the land’s right, title, and interest.
This move by the BMC highlights the ongoing efforts to regulate urban development and ensure compliance with land use policies in Bhubaneswar.
