Mayurbhanj: The body of a woman, who was missing for the past few days, was found dead in the marshes of a farm pond in Bisoi block of Mayurbhanj district.
The deceased has been identified as 48-year-old Sukhi Singh of Kaasipentha village.
According to reports, the matter came to fore after some villagers, who were going towards the farm pond on Tuesday evening, spotted the half-buried body of Sukhi and alerted the same to the police.
Later, a police team along with a scientific team reached the spot and initiated a probe into the incident.
While the exact cause behind the incident is yet to be ascertained, police suspect it to be a planned murder as a sharp injury was noticed on Sukhi’s head and marks of strangulation around her neck was also found, said sources.
